As the Leadership Returns Home Today,

Secretary for External Relations Expresses Keeness on ESPA implementation

Eastern Front Leadership has expressed its satisfaction with the implementation progress, particularly on the Security Arrangements Protocol, regarding Eastern Sudan Peace Agreement (ESPA) it signed with Sudan Government.




In a press statement on the phone from Asmara to Sudan Vision, the External Relations Secretary to the Front, Abdallah Kunnah, said that the Front Supreme Leadership will arrive Khartoum today.
He further stated that following the Front transformation to a political party, the Front Tripartite Leadership Office has become positively keen on the completion of ESPA implementation to allow the people of the Eastern Sudan enjoy their rights provided for in the Agreement.
Kunnah revealed that the role of the Eritrean mediator, in the upcoming period, would be confined to monitoring the implementation of the Agreement.


In a related development, the Higher Committee set to prepare for the reception of the leadership of the Eastern Sudan Front, headed by the Chairman of the Sudanese General Trade Unions Federation, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandor, has completed its arrangement to welcome the leaders today. In a news conference held at the Federation premises yesterday, Prof. Ghandor said that the leaderships would arrive in Khartoum on board two jets and would be received by a representative of the Government of National Unity. He went on to say that Vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha will address a mass rally marking the occasion at the Friendship Hall. He said an oath taking ceremony will be organized on Tuesday.
